The ability to represent approximate numerical magnitudes is often referred as the number system (ANS) and has regularly been proposed foundational mathematics achievement. However, some argue that relation between ANS acuity achievement ceases exist when controlling for domain-general cognitive abilities. current debate in literature on whether remains a predictor after strict control applied leads need simultaneously investigate domain-specific abilities different ages. 174 Children took part two computerised tasks, executive function verbal skills task, intelligence subscales, task (i.e. global, formal, informal achievement). Results demonstrated that, visuospatial memory, ceased exist, might only play predictive role early mathematics.
